No better way to have fun! The Peru Retreat

Our Peru Retreat!

Who could think of a better way to get to know your team than spending the night at the Youthlinc office? Certainly not me, because I had a blast! This retreat was one to remember, we played lots of fun games to get to know everybody and learned lots of new things about our team members.

Once Britnie told us the announcements and upcoming events for the next meeting, we split off into our individual committees and planned out what we would be doing in Peru and what we would be doing locally to raise money for supplies and other necessities. In my committees, Cultural Committee and Construction Committee we discussed fundraising opportunities and different ways to bond with the locals in Yanamono. Once the business part of the retreat was done, people really started to cut loose.

We had a delicious South American themed buffet dinner to get everyone pumped for the trip and everyone brought their part of the meal.
After dinner, we played multiple games including Reverse Pictionary and several Get to Know You games. They were all very fun and it continued until about 1 in the morning.

We had to get some sleep at some point so around that time everyone brought out their gear and started to settle in for the night. Some of us fell asleep sooner than others, ----->
but we didn't end up going to bed until 2 in the morning!

In the morning we got up nice and early after that late night and went to volunteer at the Center for Women and Children. There, we got to play even more games with the people there and we also did some arts and crafts. From what I can tell, everyone had a great time.

This retreat was a great way to get to know everyone and it was really fun to do all of these things with this wonderful group and get us prepared for our journey this July.
