On Saturday April 30th, over 150 women volunteers(and a couple men) got together in Murray for a humanitarian aid project. 25 quilts were made, 125 block sets were assembled and hundreds of folder games were compiled. These will be shipped around the world. The exciting part for Youthlinc was the making of reusable feminine hygiene pads that we are taking to Kenya this summer. Over 500 inner pads were made and 180 envelopes were cut out. A huge thanks to all those who helped, especially those from the Kenya team. Jerika Michel, Jaclyn Bawden and her mom, Erin Berg and her friend Marlies and Jason Taylor were all there. Jason brought his wife and all 3 daughters to help. Jason, you are a great example to our whole team!
There will be a follow-up project to sew the envelopes and make more inner pads on May 11th at 6:30pm at LDS church. Address is 750 E. Three Fountains Drive. All are invited. Anyone who has a serger sewing machine is encouraged to bring that or even regular sewing machines will work. If you have flannel or any other soft fabric that you can donate, please bring that as well.
